Doors won’t unlock via touch after opening trunk

I have a 2013 Passat TDI SEL. When I open my trunk via touching the trunk button (on the car, not the fob), the trunk opens, and after 10 seconds or so the car horn honks indicating that the car has been re-locked.

At this point I can no longer touch the driver’s-doorhandle with my fingertips and have the car unlock the doors. The only way I can unlock at that point is to click the button on the fob.

I do not remember this glitch prior to a recent “factory reset” to the convenience settings.

Maybe I didn’t notice before, but if there’s a way to turn this feature off, so that I can still touch the handles with my fingertips and have the car unlock, even after I open the trunk, that would be great! There is no problem unlocking the doors by touching the handles otherwise.
