Auto Tranny gearing in NB TDIs

For those who are interested, the TDi with auto transmission has the following gearing:
1st: 2.714
2nd: 1.441
3rd: 1.000
4th: 0.742
Reverse: 2.884

Final drive ratio: 3.700

You wouldn't know what the 5 speed manual gearing is, would you ? Just wandered what the difference was between the two.

Manual 5 speed:
1st 3.778
2nd 2.118
3rd 1.36
4th 0.971
5th 0.756
final drive ratio 3.389

Thanks Howard, That sure sounds right too. That manual 5 speed with the 1.9 diesel is like a mountain goat on steep hills or mountains. I couldn't beleive the torque that 98 TDI I had, exhibited in the smokies. The diesel also was a big help holding us back going down the mountains. I also found if you want a little more resistence going down the mountains, turning the air cond. on helps more than you would think. I Hardly used the brakes, but other cars I passed along side the road sure did, smoke was rolling out of a couple.

I know that it's lower. 5-speed TDI's have both 4th and 5th gears as overdrive (under 1.000)

Final drive ratio is different as well, but I dont know the exact stats (sorry)
