Are you looking for info on the new TDI's with DSG's?

If you're looking for info on used ones, there are different cars, engines, and auto transmissions (conventional torque converter or DSG) that will give you different numbers.

In the winter I average 40 and in the summer I get around 43-44. This includes both city and hiway.

40ish in my 2001 Golf.

Winter diesel cuts it down a few.

Trips (without stepping on it frequently especially now with the VNT17) add a few over 40.

Bests ever was 47 on a long trip.

2004 Jetta...

mix of 90/10 highway/city...

42 mpg average

PD's are a little thirstier than the ALH predecessors.

It doesn't vary much...I have not done a good job of using fuelly, so it's showing only 40. Winter mpg is a little lower and summer a little higher. If I baby it mpg doesn't improve much and I really have to run it hard to drop the mpg by much.

My 05 Golf with 5 speed auto(09A) averaged 41mpg this past Winter and is now up to around 45. My tires are inflated pretty high and my driving is 60/40 suburban/highway. I have not had the ceramic to steel GP reflash performed as of yet, if that counts for anything. I use 5W-40 synthetic oil and my OCI's average over 400 hours or 11-12K miles.

38-40 normal city/highway commute. I've done mid 50s on road trips through the Rocky Mountains, fairly low speed/high load conditions.

Myself, I try to drive a mix of both even and odd miles, but I applaud you for sticking with the odd ones. :p
(though how you do it I'm not sure)

What makes it funnier is 790 is an even number. :D

Does it make me a nerd that I actually LOLed?

I'm averaging about 46mpg. 20/80 city/ highway most of the time.

Driving style, speed, city/highway, tires, season, and terrain has a lot to do with it. I drive mostly long highway miles at the speed limit and it's a little hilly up around here.

Right now I average around 46 mpg. It was 48 a couple of years ago. When I was in the south, it was 49-51 but a lot of that was 55 mph. That's pretty good for a 01M.

Best ever was 54 mpg on the Blue Ridge Parkway (but that's 45 mph and 50% is coasting downhill).

Good point. I'm ashamed that I missed that myself.

I don't know if it makes you a nerd. But I grew up on the Muppet Show, Loony Toons, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Monty Python, etc., so that accounts for the warped view of the world. :D

Maybe he meant the other odd. Like he did 790 miles with 2 chickens and a pancake on his head. Those would be odd miles indeed
