Hey gang,

Alright, now that the baby is here, and we have settled down a bit, it's time to try to reschedule my GTG that fell through from this spring.

I am looking at the calendar and Sept 14/15 are the best for me with Sept 21/22 as an alternative...how's that?

As stated in the spring, the following applies:
Alright, I have finally put all my obligations on the calendar and figured out when I have some free time to try and host a GTG. Now all I need is the input from your folks.

It will be in Lusby, which is about an hour southeast of DC. I know, that seems like a long way but it’s a beautiful area and you are very close to gorgeous Solomons Island. Check out Beautiful Solomons Island and another page of Beautiful Solomons Island .

My boss has been gracious enough to allow us to host the GTG in my work parking lot. My office is right on the water with a good-sized parking lot area, a great field for fun/picnics/the family and more, and the peace and quiet of a rural neighborhood. I'll get some pics on Friday when I go back to that office and post...as long as you don't drool on your computers.

I thought we could talk cars, maybe do some car work (depending on the weather), have some food and generally enjoy the company. I could bring the grill down from the house to cook up some dogs/burgers. In fact, we can make this fun and try to make it a potluck type of thing.

There are a few restrictions that my boss did set.
1. We have a bathroom in the building but that is the only reason anybody should be inside.
2. Noise should be kept to a minimum so that we do not disturb the neighbors too much (i.e. no tire smoking burn-outs or high speed runs back up the road)
3. If we do car work, we have to be environmentally conscious, recover any oil changed (we can recycle it nearby), cleanup any residues, and don’t let fluids run down the storm drain. Hey, I work for an environmental firm, did you expect anything else?
4. Of course, we have to clean up after ourselves.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">It should be a ton of fun...and relaxing. Maybe we'll have weather like we are this week (mid 80's, the norm for Sept.)

Mikey

here's some of the pics I promised:

the main parking lot (please ignore my non-TDI Ford Ranger, the wife has the TDI for the day)

a bad pic of the grassed area (one of the many) where you can kick back and relax off the blacktop

there's also more parking but hopefully it won't be that big!!!!

OK, count me in..

Since my wife and kids like Flag Ponds and Calvert Cliffs so much, I might even convince them to drop by...

I'll bring a grill and food.

I was thinking of bringing rib-eye steaks instead of the usual bratwursts. Would that be preferred?

Bernie -
I was planning on bringing my full size grill down from the house. It'll come down in the truck with the air compressor.

I plan on having my truck there with my tools, compressor, grill, mini-cabanna (tent), etc...

Mikey

p.s. the steaks sound great!!!!

ANYBODY BRINGING ANYTHING ELSE???? (Hint Hint Hint)

hey all,

My neighbor informed me last night that there is a demolition derby that night down at Potomac Speedway . Granted it's about half an hour south of me, but if you're interested in going, I'm probably going too.

It starts at 7pm and goes until no cars are left running!!!!

Looks like we're free that weekend!!! It's penciled in on the "official" calender

Bernie, can you still bring the picnic table??
Don't forget, Ron and I will install your suspension for you at Ron's place.

Mikey, I'll bring some healthy stuff like salad or vaggies to grill.

Mel, does this mean you're going??? Let's caravan down there!! Maybe we can meet up with Matt and head south.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Nope. Sorry, Lito. It just means I was being a smart-ass. You all probably don't believe me, but I really, really wish I could come.
You all are a great group and I wish I had more weekend time to spend with all of you. I especially would like to see Mikey's daughter.

Directions:
I’m going to try to keep them simple, but if you want to come a different way, that’s fine by me…it’s your car!!!!

The address here is (if you want to map it on your own):
13325 Rousby Hall Road
Lusby, MD 20657

From Baltimore (about 2 hours from North Baltimore):

- I-695 to I-97 South.
- Take MD Rt. 3 South (Exit for Ft. Meade). DON’T TAKE MD RT. 3 BUSINESS!!! (you’ll be there all day if you do)
- Follow MD Rt. 3 South past US 50. MD 3 becomes US 301 South there.
- Follow US 301 South to MD 4.
- Take MD 4 South towards Prince Frederick
- Follow MD 4 South through Prince Frederick and continue on for about 20 more minutes
- Turn LEFT onto MD 760 (Rousby Hall Road)
- Follow MD 760 through the light and about 1-2 miles.
- MD 760 will make a left turn, follow MD 760
- Follow MD 760 to the end. You will see a sign for Ship Point Business Park.
- Pull in the gate and into the parking lot immediately to your left.

From Washington (about 60 minutes from the Beltway):
- I-495 to MD 4 South (Exit 11 I think)
- Take MD 4 South towards Upper Marlboro/Prince Frederick
- Follow MD 4 South through Upper Marlboro and then Prince Frederick and continue on for about 20 more minutes

From Southern Maryland (about 20 minutes from Lexington Park):
- MD 4 North over the Bridge to Solomons.
- Follow MD 4 North to MD 760 (in Lusby).
- Turn right on MD 760
- Follow MD 760 through the light and about 1-2 miles.
- MD 760 will make a left turn, follow MD 760
- Follow MD 760 to the end. You will see a sign for Ship Point Business Park.
- Pull in the gate and into the parking lot immediately to your left.

If you need different directions, please let me know…I’m more than happy to oblige.

I'll be there!

Will there be anyone who will bring a VAG-Com (SP?)?
I'm curious to see the results if hooked up to my Golf!
