ECU reset??? !!!

I have a friend whos alternator went out on him..... so he had the car jumpstarted when trying to figure out what was wrong. Now the shop that fixed his alternator says that the ECU has to be reset by VW because of the jump start.

Is this true at all?

Could I do this with my VCDS?

Just clear the fault memory of each controller as required. Whoever told you that is incorrect.

Your right. For some reason he thought that the jump start had negative effects and I just wanted to make sure...... I bet he just needs the code taken off.....
