headrest mod to fit with better posture

So, today I decided to cut and reweld the headrest bars at a different angle. Took a few hours to do, but was absolutely worth the effort!

Pretty ingenious. I know the Manufacturer's design is to prevent neck injury in an accident situation. However, if you were selling modified headrests, my wife would buy a set, LOL. Not a problem for me however. I just adjust the seat back until I am comfy.

Nice work. Real clean looking mod.

My wife hate's 2 things about her JSW, one of them is the headrests.

I was wondering about that the other day: are there any oem retrofits to make the headrest adjustable like mk4s ?

I was going to stop by my vw dealer to try to see what other ones fit, but I didn't want to occupy their time with such a seemingly petty thing. Seems like every time I go there I'm complaining about something. I also did not want to buy headrests on ebay without knowing for sure if they were going to fit.

Just use MK4 head rest they fit. After the mk6 headrest mod to remove the OEM ones. I am currently using my beetle flat tops but have also used MK4 leather headrests.

Yes, although I don't remember if it is exactly the same as the fronts, I have removed them before.
