Hello!
My friends golf has a problem. The dashlights were staying on with the key out of the ignition. The car was jump started a few days ago and this could be the cause. So far all fuses are ok ,checked battery terminals ,ground connection on the body, battery, checked inside the fuse box in the engine bay for water too but no joy! I know these cars don't have the normal ignition switch as in big wires inside the ignition switch but use smaller wires out to control modules or relays.
The lights are not coming on at all now but the battery is good. one relay is was clicking and the lights flickered a few times hence I went looking for water in the fuse box.
Anybody any suggestions or is it straight to VW on a trailer!!!
Edit. It's a 2006 1.9 tdi manual.
