So here’s the story I lost my one and only key to my 04 Jetta wagon. Very much grief from the wife. I went to the stealership bought a replacement key which won't be in for about 3 - 5 days that really sucks. I want to get my car towed to the dealer ahead of the key showing up but with no key I can't shift it into neutral so the tow truck driver can move it without damaging the car, if I can get the door open how do I go about overriding the parking switch.

If the tow truck can get to the back end of the car he should be able to put dollies under the front wheels. It is then a simple thing to pick up the rear with the stinger and drive away.

Should you be tempted to buy a second key (I know, overkill),
AARodriguez has a pretty good deal on them.

Dont the all the automatics have a spot to insert a long flathead screwdriver along the lower consle for the shifing mechanism to move shifter in the event of battery removed. I know some cars also have a tab to remove that looks just like a cover for a screw and underenith can push down to release the shifter from park
