Reverse uphill with the DSG...

Does anybody/everybody else's car feel like a new driver trying to slip the clutch off and on go reverse up a steep hill?

When I back up my steep driveway about 45' to park, the car will surge 4 or 5 times while reversing uphill. It really is like somebody that is learning to drive a manual for the first time... this is with a steady throttle. It's the only knock on the DSG so far, but maybe that not normal and I should take it in.

Just 700 miles on the car. Love it in every way except going backwards... uphill.

I have the same complaint with my 2006 DSG Jetta.

I have a Caddy Maxi Life, and have exactly the same issue.

Some have suggested it is an issue with the mechatronics unit.

I am heading back to Sydney on Jan 14, and will be booking a service for this and another issue where after going forward up a steep road, the DSG does not want to change up, and has to be done manually.

The Caddy Maxi looks like a great van. VW, why not make this avalable to the US market instead we get the warmed over WV/Chrysler ?
