Is there anyway you can install a remote (keyless) engine starter on a TDI? I think it would have to engage to glow plugs first, right? I live in ohio, if the temperature is an issue.

Second answer... yes. Not that bad to throw in IF you know what you are doing. (I do it for a living, mind you) A competent car audio shop should have no problems, provided they do a lot of remote starts. I personally recommend the Autostart or Ultrastart branded starters. Anything Viper will not work that well. You need a unit that has a timer for start delay, as there is no easily usable glowplug wire available. Set it up for a 15 second delay, you be ok. Oh, and if you have an immobilizer, you have to give up the service key, or you can get another one programmed. All in all, no a bad job.
