I need some advice on rustproofing.
My first concern is: will it void my warranty.

Although I believe in rustproofing, (I have a '94 Mazda with no rust at all/rustproofed every year), the dealer recommended not to, saying that it would most likely void the warranty. (Plug drain holes, etc....)

He also stressed that the body on all the A4's are galvanized, therefore, it would be a waste of money.

I've also heard that VW has had some problems with the paint, because of the gavanized body, and that only some panels (like floor pans, not the whole body, is galvanized.

All of this leads me to ask:

Should I rusproof or not ??????

Any comment welcome

Don't worry about it!

If it bothers you, then buy a couple of $3.99 cans and do the job yourself, but whatever you do, don't pay the dealer or anyone else $500.00 for a half-hour job.

On the new models, the whole thing is galvanized.

With a 12-year rust warranty on those, I wouldn't bother. With the older models like mine, different story.

Whatever you do, don't buy extra rustproofing through the dealer. You can get the same thing for less money, and more likely to be done properly, at places like Ziebart or Krown.
