03 ALH Jetta, 448k, 5spd. I have gotten the P0216 code and only glow plug codes. The code showed up when I started getting a stumbling problem at very low throttle positions. I have read a few threads on here and am trying to avoid removing the IP and changing the AS since I did a timing belt about 15k ago. I also had to replace the cap and quantity adjuster seals on the pump about 5k ago. I got the quantity back to 3.2. I have unplugged the MAF and only had one stumble in the last 2 days of driving. Stumbles seem to have disappeared. Is this possibly a MAF issue (MAF has about 50k on it). Can the AS be changed without removing the entire IP?

Thank you for the help.

Pertinent info, that link didn't bring up the text for me
Maybe this?
If that's the original pump, pin a gold star on it then refresh or renew.

I was calling the N108 the AS (advance solenoid). Sorry for the confusion. Is there any way to replace it without removing the IP?

Put this in google "tdi n108 for sale" you will see some for sale. Further down the page is DriveByWire's instructions for procedure.
Definitely search more for a better price on an authentic part.

I got that code ( p0216) as well as others from pulling the wrong fuse.
the fuse list said " engine control elements"
10 amp
was similar to limp mode.
the ecm could not control timing or boost thru solenoids due to no power.
re installed fuse and all is well again.
mabee a shorted wire to turbo vac solenoid could cause similar issues.
I hope that helps
