I have a 1999 TDI Beetle, way too much money put into it, including a new turbo.
The drive train is fine, but car is rusting away around it.
I'm not putting any more money into it.
I just can't see having a perfectly good diesel scrapped though.

You all want to play games, I will have it crushed.

You want a nice working TDI, to even just pull drive train out of, contact me.

I can see other offers, here and ebay, etc.
Make me a fair offer, you got it.
I'm located in Western Massachusetts.

There are just too many to list....
Wow.... OK, I would perhaps read the forum rules on For Sale ads, or I can distill it down for you:

Post pictures, and a price. This is not an auction site. If you do not want to play games, don't set up a field and yell play ball.

The only one that loses in this situation is you, unless of course it is only worth scrap value. Post a price, and if it is a fair market value for the car, someone will likely buy it. Heck, at this point we don't even know if it is an auto or manual.

Crush it, I don't care... if you don't want to post BASIC information, it's new home can be the scrap yard... let me know which yard you send it to, I will go salvage the turbo :)

Out of TDI's
Seeing many club members are going to electric cars, hybrids, and even (gasp!) gassers, it looks like TDI's are going the way of petticoats and barn animals.

I'll bend the rules and offer a Dollar for the car, fob Houston, Texas.

One post only and it was two days ago. Never bought something I haven't at least seen one picture of. And at least have a starting price. Other then a turbo that for all we know is bought from the one guy that kills all things vw how do we know anything more on it? Timing belt? Clutch of there is one. I would give you scrap value. Which I think for a car is 150. You want more on this site follow the rules and post some info. But I think you already burned the bridge by saying "play my way or the hwy".

As requested, I took pics.
There does not seem any way to share them.

Am requested to post price.
We'll call it a brand new turbo, wrapped in a working car, on the road, with thousands spent, that can be verified by local reliable garage in Amherst, MA area, who specializes in German cars, after a small deposit is paid.

A bit of faith, and you make out quite well.
I'm going to say $1500 to get this out of my yard and life.
No auction, fine ... than no haggle, price fixed.

$1500, 303k miles and a 5 speed. That's actually a fair starting price point. GLWS

farewell old friend

it still seems such a waste to not use a perfectly good TDI drivetrain.
but, nobody wanted it.
not here, not anywhere.

Yesterday, I got $500 salvage, when I traded in for a new car for my wife.
I paid more last summer for the new tires.
Cheap little 3 cyl, gets into the 40's mpg.
Still, miss the old girl, and couldn't find a home.

Thousands in recent work, including new turbo, all to be crushed.
I'm not sure even why this group exists then.

She clocked out at 303,076 miles.
