Who bought more warranty? 6 year 72 k was about $1900.00. VW now handles it and it's all under the VW umbrella which is nice. I like having it but it does add $25. more a month for 6 years. VW also will give you money back if you decide after 2-3 years you do not want it. Anyone know more about that new offer? Also the tire and wheel is $5.00 more a month and covers if I heard it correctly any wheel on your car. I buy BBS's and trash them they cover it.

We did 6/85 and gap coverage on ours. Figured it smart and will have the car under warranty till 8-9 model years old. I've never bought an extended warranty. My mini nickel and domed me above 75k until I sold it at 90.

I got the extended 6yr/100k and wheel/tire warranty for an additional $27 a month. I also was told the wheel/ tire warranty covers whatever wheels are on the care. I made sure of this as I want to get rid of the oem 16's asap.

Fuggin guy on the wheels if I understand this correctly so as long as you have OEM offered sizes 18x8 think are the biggest you'll be ok? Looks like if you put 19 on them and messed them up they would not cover it as not a size they offer. I'd like some nice 17's as not a fan of huge wheels. Im in VT dirt road country so I like a beefier sidewall

Honestly, he didn't mention anything about size to me. But that very well may be the case and it makes sense. I plan on putting 17s on it so I'm not too concerned about size.

Ill ask as looking at it could mean only the size it left factory with also

Replacement OEM or aftermarket tires and
wheels during your agreement term, if they
meet the manufacturer’s size specifications

I didn't buy more warranty. VW dealership only offered a 5 year warranty, and literally nothing broke on my older car in that window. So, thanks, but I'd rather save my money than throw it directly into the toilet.

I asked my dealer about extra warranties, he said they have several different lengths and coverages. I worry about some non-mechanical thing having problems, like the radio or AC or sunroof.

Bolded a very interesting statement. You can tell VW agreed to that language from a position of weakness. Wow!

How does this part work? Is the warranty reduced to 5/60 after phase one is complete?

It's greater of. See my post above yours. You cut off the important part. At a minimum, a new old stock purchase gets 11 years or 162k miles.

If you bought back in 2015 and put, say, 165,000 miles on your car already and then got the Phase One fix, now you get another 5 years or 60K. Then when you get Phase Two, same deal: another 5 years or 60k.
