96 B4V GLX For Sale; Maryland
I have decided to part with our 96 Passat Wagon. The body is from a GLX VR6 swap done by me about 6 years ago. Drive train has 384K and body about 280K.
Car is a reliable daily commuter for a 60 mile roundtrip.
Good:
*Recent timing belt (<10K).
*Recent master cylinder
*Recent injection pump from Frans
*Recent front axles (both less than 20K) but one small cut recently found on one boot)
*Recent tires (<5K)
*No rust rot
*New VR6 radiator
*Heat core replaced about two years ago
*Motor has had a Racor Crankcase filter on it for the last 260K
*No check engine lights
*NEW rear springs about 45K ago
*A/C compressor new about 60K ago
*Cruise works
Not So Good:
*Clear coat is shot. Nothing remains on the hood and the roof is almost completely bare.
*Driver's door window needs track alignment work that I have been ignoring
*A/C has charge and compressor engages but not cooling
*Windshield has a small bulls eye crack below the line of sight
*Windshield gasket has leaked--currently sealed with silicone
*I slid into a guardrail over the winter. Damage was to passenger fender and passenger side grille. All has been replaced with used sheet metal and alignment of panels is not perfect
*MAF function on instrument panel does not work completely
*Clock LED panel on cluster has no background light
*Rip and worn spot on driver's seat (all seats are leather)
*The usual stains, dings, skuffs of a daily high mileage commuter car
Notable:
*Straight pipe exhaust is complete with aftermarket cat and no leaks
*The following were replaced with new at the time of the conversion:
--Clutch
--Motor gaskets
--Starter
--Alternator
--Injectors
--Turbo (kkk)
*Ventectomy on tank provides 25+ gallons of volume
*Consistently get 39-42 MPG
I have a pile of spare parts that will go with the sale including motor, electrical, sheet metal, fuel tank (B4V TDI), HVAC assembly.
Looking to get $2000 BO for all. I will throw in a Dell Laptop with VAGCOM and cable for the asking price. I am located near Frederick Maryland.
