2002 New Beetle for sale. TDI Auto
Good running car 196,xxx miles. Driven daily by my son. And occasionally me.
And that’s the reason I’m selling it. He’s heading off to college a year early and I don’t need a third car. As much as I would like to make it a Baja bug. I don’t have the time.
Serviced almost it’s entire life by Jon’s auto in Marysville Ohio.
This is the description from them when I purchased it.
MK 4 ALH Beetle. good, running 2002 VW Beetle GLS TDI with automatic transmission. It has been serviced at Jon's Auto LLC, VW TDI specialty service and repair shop, in Marysville (www.jonsautocare.com) since July 2008. The service is current including oil, oil filter, and fuel filter complete this month. (12-2019)
Service records, owner's manual, and three keys (2 key fobs and 1 valet key) are included in the sale.
Highlights:
Vehicle equipped with DieselGeek heavy duty aluminum skid plate, Rocketchip RC 2 performance ECU tune with immobilizer delete and EGR "upgrade" with racepipe (intake manifold cleaned 1/2016 @ 164,704), replacement leatherette front seats (from 2003 VW Beetle 1.8L turbo), and Techtonics Tuning 304 stainless steel downpipe
New Battery: 12/2019
Rebuilt Valve body and AT service: 10/2017 @ 187,197 miles
Complete Timing belt service: 10/2016 @ 174,566 miles
A/C work including both fan assemblies, fan control module, and A/C compressor: 4/2017 @ 181,236
Glow plugs (x 4), glow plug harness, and thermostat: 11/2014 @ 153,244
Alternator: 9/2012 @ 125,550 miles
Bosch authorized rebuilt injection pump: 1/2011 @ 104,107 miles
Suspension components have been replaced.
Liqui Moly Diesel High Tech (made in Germany) Full Synthetic 5w40 engine oil used since 2008.

Rust on exterior driver side door handle
Driver side door panel in poor condition
Fuel gauge non-functional
Airbag icon illuminated for seat belt switch
The tires are a matched set of Hankook Optimo H725 dated 11/2015. The tire depth in the front is 4.3mm/4.3mm and in the rear is 3.9mm/2.7mm.
Also, this car spent nearly every winter either in Florida or it was left in the barn. That’s what I was told. And looking at the undercarriage there is very little surface rust but nothing of consequence.
