As some of you may have seen in my previous thread I have a 2006 Jetta TDI with DSG issues. I found an entire 5spd manual swap from a 2006 2.5l for cheap. Will it bolt up? Would change the 5th gear of course...

Yes the gear ratios are definitely different. I had planned on changing 5th gear and was just looking to see if it would bolt up. However I found a 5speed swap from a tdi so will instead being going that route.

Its much better route . Plug and play . Good luck . What did you end up finding with that DSG

I am not big fan of Automatic Or DSG and no way i could see spending close to 1600 for a new unit . Going Manual is the way . All my diesel fleet is Manual .

In fact we sold my wife Passat wagon with Tiptronic for Golf 5 speed .

Good luck with the swap
