Most economical and reliable car I've ever owned.

Clicking the pic at the right moment at 300K while driving at 120kmph - quiet a balancing act Simon , Congrats!

Agree 100% with you. I'm approaching this milestone soon...hopefully I'm able to capture the moment.

Cheers.

i live in Southern Ontario and looking to learn from an expert.
It's not stock - see my sig Still has egr, though.

I try to complete all routine maintenance on time, and fix the small issues before they get bigger or numerous. These cars seem to respond well to preventative maintenance.

Not driving the car helps a lot too! 300K in 16 years in very little.

Or 91K miles in 10 years since purchase.

This is my '02 last July. Bought new in '02

Has almost exactly 10K more miles on it now. 380K mile service next weekend.

That's how much my '99.5 and '00 had when I sold them. people actually paid money for them because they were diesels. By that time both cars were really worn out. I didn't want to spend money on doing a full suspension rebuild so that the next owner can enjoy it.

This is my daily still. Runs great, looks pretty good. My son has an '02 Golf with similar miles on it which is not quite as clean as mine but also runs great.

True. Type of driving probably helps too, it gets a run to the cottage (180km each way) most weekends, and not much use through the week.
