I just got my timing belt done at JSP in Abbotsford. They did a great job! The mechanic told me he rung a liter of oil out of the old timing belt, he showed me the pics. Needless to say they replaced a bunch of seals while they were at it.

I will definitely be back. Thanks guys.

Norwescan motors on Palm ave. in Burnaby, Victoria and her crew have always done a great job of keeping our TDI's humming.

Smile Rudy & Peters, Vancouver

I've been taking my 2004 Jetta TDI Wagon to Rudy & Peters for about 5 years, located at 2nd and Main in Vancouver. The owner, Dirk, has always provided fast and effective repairs, and knowledgabe info, at a fair price. They've been in business as VW specialists for over 50 years, and I believe Dirk's been there for about 25 years.

I've never had any complaints or problems. And they are conveniently located close to transit, including Skytrain station at Main and Terminal.

I know others rave about service providers in Abbotsford and Surrey, but that's a long ways to go if you live in Vancouver's westside. Especially if you only need some basic maintenance such as oil and filters.

Hope that helps.

Default RE: Trusted TDI Mechanics

Hello all my first post recently purchased a 2004 TDI wagon BEW with 199k...searched for possible TB change at all local repair shops and dealerships but unsuccessful. Are there any recommended shops in or around the Kamloops area. Cheers thanks in advance.

Looking for a TDI Mechanic on the island, I'm in the Cowichan Valley between Nanaimo and Victoria, wondering if there were any other Island Folk on this thread with recommendations.

If you're not against driving into Victoria, Jason at Ellice Automotive is a VW tech with 30+ years experience, training at VW until he left there recently to work at Ellice. I've know Jay since high school, and he knows his stuff.

Id like to find a local VW spacific experianced repair shop or mechanic that knows his way around the VCDS. I live in the central valley in Ca., north of Turlock. Id like to find a knowlegeable tech or shop local, any input is greatly appreciated.

Another vote from me for Neil and the crew at Ellice.
I've been taking my '97 Golf TD to them for 20 yrs, and they will be working on my 'new' 2012 Golf Wagon TDI as well. I had them change the springs to raise the wagon, last week.

You would probably have better luck getting responses if you started your own thread, instead of posting in this post as this is specific to the Greater Vancouver Mainland area. Good luck with your search.

Gotcha, I guess I didn't pay attention to the thread title, just the west coast forum. Fact is west coast U.S. in general the TDI is uncommon, especially in comi-fornia.
