Crankshaft position sensor

06 Jetta Tdi, running fine, driving home in the rain, then, engine light came on, glow plug light came on, oil light came on, traction control light came on, tach quit, engine died. Wouldn't start. Heard and read on here might be a crankshaft position sensor. Where is the darn thing at? Did the same thing 1 other time in similar weather, but next day everything was fine. Any ideas? Thanks much

It is right in back of the oil cooler. You will need a 9MM 12 point socket & something with a very fine ratchet action. They go for about $60. http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=352818&page=4

Thanks for the advice. Although I'm not a novice at auto repair, I can hardly see the ground when looking at this engine do you have any pictures? Really hard to find a manual for a tdi. Even all data doesn't show me a position for this. Thanks much for your help!
