Touareg V10 TDI smoke from engine bay

So I have had my Touareg V10 for a few months now. I get a decent cloud of smoke out my exhaust from time to time. I'm guessing its from when the Particulate filter does its burn out. Its just white smoke and I see it come out the exhaust first then a minute later I can smell it in the interior and then when I stop can see it coming out the hood. If I pop the hood I can see its coming from the Rear Passenger side of the engine bay from down low somewhere.

I did a search and didn't come up with much. All I found was that there is a cycle that burns out the junk in the particulate filter. I am not sure where the particulate filter is located in the exhaust. This happens like once every two weeks or so.


Thoughts?

Sounds like you have an exhaust leak - likely either before or after the turbocharger, and before the DPF.
