Power loss and glow plug light flickering

On my way into work this morning my A3 TDI 2012 with 118000 miles on it had the glow plug light come on and off and at the same time i felt a loss of power, kind of like the turbo charger stopped working, was able to make it into work but the power is way down and after arriving at work when i shut the motor off and restarted the engine the glow plug light stayed off. What just happened to my car? Did my turbo charger die? All this happening before the TDI buyback was to happen...Any ideas what happened?

Without jumping to conclusions, I'd scan it and see if there are any codes.

weird timing...just happened to me as well on my 09 jetta on monday. I scanned and found the p0299. I cleared mine and it has not come back but this is temporary. Scan to see what it is. Perhaps also look for anything loose or cracked hoses under he hood as a start near the VNT actuator.
