We've all heard that before so I'll believe it when I see it.

Me too. When I was car shopping recently I looked at the Mazda CX5 and I asked about when the diesels would finally show up. The sales manager said that they expected to start getting them in February. Unfortunately I didn't fit well in the CX5, so I decided not to wait for a possible diesel Mazda. We've all heard that before so I'll believe it when I see it.
Wow, somewhat surprised. What's the next step?Mazda has received emissions certification for its 2018 CX-5 with the 2.2 liter diesel engine.

Aren’t these the same thing? The next step is to get EPA certification (which should be just a formality), and fuel economy ratings.
Sales of efficient vehicles that carry a premium will be greatly influenced by the cost of fuel.Trying to find people to buy them I imagine.
Thanks, I missed that part in the link too.The cert I linked is CARB's (I probably should have noted that). EPA hasn't listed the cert on their web site yet.
I looked at the 6 wagon years back (might have still been a 626) and the biggest issue was that you could only get the 6 cyl in the wagon. And most likley the Mazda 6 will not be available in a wagon version like the rest of the world with common sense :-(
