I leased my 2015 Golf Highline in Dec. 2014 and opted for 16,000km per year to keep my payments down.
My plan was do buy the car at end of my lease, so I was not concerned about my total kms.
Looking at my options now, I am behind the 8-ball as I already have 110,000 clicks on the dial, which translated to about $6700 in milage penalty.
Since I love to drive this car, especially after test driving a 2017 1.8 TSI, I figured I would just take the $3500 and continue to enjoy the TDI.
Then... 2 days ago I had the oil changed and we discovered that my AdBlue line was leaking at the injector, AGAIN!
I say again, because in the 1st year with this car it was in the shop at least 6 times with low AdBlue levels.
Mine was one of "those cars"!
But for the last year I have had zero AdBlue issues and nothing but happy motoring.
Now with my AdBlue issues resurfacing, I have flipped my mind, and would like nothing more than to some how get out of this car.
If I can talk VW into doing something to get out of the lease without a beating on my milage I would look into a GTI which I also test drove a few weeks ago.
Otherwise I will probably look at getting back into a Honda.
Prior to my TDI I was a Honda guy with 6 new Hondas over 24 years.
My TDI has been in the shop more than all 6 of the Hondas put together.
This is hard for me to say as I really do love how my Golf drives.
