Golf GL/GTI owners - outer trim question/problem

The roof trim piece on the driver's side above the rear side window.

HOW THE HELL DOES THAT GO BACK IN?????

a car wash blew if off (yes I normally wash by hand but this was an exception) adn it won't go back in securly . . .

HELP

I've tried a couple different ways - had the dealership try to help but no luck they said take it to the body shop they'll know - but short of that - any of yall know? (yeah yeah not engine maintenace related - just realizing now but this it eh "General Maintenace" section and this is General maintenace . . .

Here's the foolproof method per the service manual:


Installing:
Insert cover strip into pocket of roof molding onto stop, then press into roof channel.
A lubricant may be used to ease assembly.

Thanks Denton,

I'll give it a try - although I haven't noticed any increase in wind noise with it out and have contemplated pulling the other side off . . . .
