Golf Mk7 TDI 1.6 exhaust options

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum, i've owned my car for about 7 months now and i want to start doing some upgrades. Now i want to upgrade my exhaust first in preperation for upgrading the turbo and intercooler.

I'm planning on having a almost straight pipe, with the resonator and the muffler removed soon and i'm having a full stainless steel set up made by a friend of mine. Now, i am planning on keeping my DPF filter in place, as im UK based and as you all know deleting your DPF is frowned upon over here. Is it worth me doing the upgrade with the DPF still in place as i've read mixed reports. I'm not bothered about it being insanely loud or anything i just like the car to breathe more.

If your keeping the DPF then id keep it all and save the money.

Thanks for the advice, would it not make any difference to the car at all having them removed? I'd much rather have the dpf deleted but it wouldn't pass an MOT with it removed sadly

As long as you have some type of emissions testing best to leave all components in place.
