So to use chains on the new Passat I need to use 215/60R16 tires on 6.5Jx16 ET 44 rims per the manual.

I checked out Tirerack.com and they only have 7 or 7.5 rims with 45 mm offsets.

Does anyone know if these will work or not? They do NOT have 6.5 16 with the 44 offset so cannot offer them.

I guess I could do Google searches for the exact rim size and get the tires from Tirerack and then get them all mounted, but trying to see if I need to be this EXACT. I lean towards matching VW specs exactly, but need to know if this is time well spent.

yup should.

Doesn't the passat s still get steel wheels? i'm sure you could find someone who wants to get rid of them.

BTW which chains/cords you using? there are probably some low profile ones that would work on OEM size rims and the manual is just giving you lawyer speek.
