Just like the title states, i'll be installing my 2" ecohitch soon and found a nice set of 20's with 225/30R20 tires, not sure if it's a good idea, thoughts ?

if the roads you drive on are mint...go for it...if not...get smaller rims

I'm in Chicagoland and they are nowhere close to mint, full of potholes is a best description

Then I'd forget about 20" wheels unless, that is, you like replacing tires. Pot holes here in Baltimore cost me both front tires last winter, and they're 16s...

forget 20's, 19's, 18s, even 17's at stock diameter are sketchy IMO, 17" with 60-65 series sidewall would be really cushy. Its only a matter of when not if a pot hole or raised expansion joint is going to blow out the sidewall/stove up the rim.

Best part of winter is rolling on 215-60-16 snow tires, next set I'll prob go up to 215-65-16 just cause.

I have 235/45R18 stock for now and winter have blizzaks 225/50 on stock wheels, I'm sad but will pass on 20's , have no patience to replace things for stupid decisions

On top of the pothole issue, larger wheels are heavier than smaller ones, so your straight line performance and mpg's might suffer. Don't fall into the trap of thinking that huge wheels make you cooler.

Changed from stock 235x45x18 a year ago to 235x55x18. Best thing I done. Slightly larger tires give much better cushioning then stock tires.

Don't think I'll go that far as I'll be getting a sway bar for better handling

I wanna go 245 this summer.

Do you think 245/55R18 will clear everything?

I know guys are running 245/45R18 no problem.

245, you do realize these aren't corvettes, right? It will hurt the fuel mileage going wider.
