I installed a 09 CR engine manual into a 06 PD auto Jetta. Can't communicate with ECM but chassis ECU works fine. Help!

IDK, but putting a CR in a PD car does sound like a major downgrade.

I'd try asking in the conversions subforum.

But you don't understand the benefits of the CR and its capacity.
I asked there also

Sky high underdood temps during regen, exspensive to replace DPFs when they crack internally and don't forget a HPFP that when it fails requires the entire fuel system replacement.

No thank you, I'll keep my lowly BRM. The cost of a cam and lifters is relativly cheap and easy compared to the nose bleed expensive repairs that a CR will very likly need at some point in it's future.

The beauty of it is that the CR into 2006 transplant wouldn't need the DPF 'legally', since the original car didn't come with one. That stuff can be disabled. And then the CR would be a very good performer.

Ding Ding Ding! And for half the price of Franks BRM cam kit, you can slap a CP3 on it and your HPFP issues are gone forever.

Absolutely. You can even do what I did- delete all the unwanted parts, add a CP3 and cr170 turbo. End result, a dead reliable car with 45+ mpg and as quick as a gti.

There are just too many to list....
Yeah the CR with a couple tweaks runs fantastic and has far better driveability than even the PDs, even my BHW (which has a lot more oomph than the BRM does to begin with).

I cannot answer the OP's question though. May want to try resetting the CAN Gateway to see if it will recognize all the modules, including the CR's EDC17 ECU.

Might be a VG way to go. It would require a tune to make it work. Also depending on were the OP lives as far as emission testing goes, he could delete the EGR and have the EGR tuned out as well.

I can see some serious win with this.

Message GtiTdi. He installed a commonrail successfully into a MK2. He has a way to make the CAN gateways talk.

I'm in central Va. no emissions. This swap has a CP3 pump, GT22/60 turbo, water injection, aftermarket intercooler, 3" exhaust Malone 5.5 tune. BFI clutch 6 speed manual. Was making 297 HP in a A3. Help guys I need to get this on some tracks soon(2.5 road course, 1/8 and 1/4 mile)
