So I was taking my air box apart and taking the battery out so I could inspect/clean the grounding points when I noticed that the inside of the wiring harness plug that plugs into the MAF is damaged. The pink part that looks like it insulates the four prongs inside the plug is completely broken apart. I am wondering if this could be causing my P0245 code and causing my limp mode. since the MAF and N75 are linked together electrically. Just thinking out loud. I took pictures of it, but I am not allowed to post pictures.

yes, it could be causing your DTC because the connector is probably corroded since the pink part completely broke apart...
buy a can of Deoxit5 and maybe you can rejuvenate the connector...
otherwise you will have to visit a junk yard and clip one out of another car.

that's weatherproofing seal . its absence would not cause "arcing"

There are instructions for posting stuff in my signature.
The tricky part is you have to go to pics.tdiclub.com and log in again (same stuff)

New connector is available from numerous vendors for under $10, part number 1J0973999A. Easy installation, I replaced mine this past weekend in under 30 minutes.
