My wife just texted, "Woot!"

That can only mean one thing.

Received my reminder email today. The amount seems off (and not by a mileage adjustment). I hope it gets resolved at buy back appointment

2015 Golf SEL: $29,546 (from online calculators)
Mileage Adj: $510 (as I have 26k miles now, puts me in 5001-10000 mileage bracket at 09/15)
Total: $30,056

Amount from reminder is 29,323.13

I know (and hope) the $510 will get sorted out at buyback but the "base" amount is off by $222.87. Not sure what this could be. I am almost certain I won't be getting this based off what other folks are saying on the forums.
Quick follow up.

Had buyback today
The amount was for the $29,313.13
Was I wrong in my calculations?
Everyone else on the forum who had a different amount was the result of an incorrect mileage
Trying to figure out if I messed up

$10 less than their offer?

I'd wait until payment is finalized to see if the missing $520 appears.

Sorry. My calculation was $30,056 (per all the online calculators) and I received $29,833.13.
Ok, so in December your buyback was worth $29,546 (2015 Golf hatchback SEL in CT, no options, for anyone keeping score).

In January, it was worth $30,056. There's the $510 difference you cited, a mileage credit for having 26,000 miles on the clock.

If in fact VW is pro-rating into the next bracket as another poster speculated, a buyback on Jan 9th would get you 29% of the additional $510 (9 of 31 days), which would result in an increase of only $148.

Your increase was $287 over the December amount (and therefore $223 short of the January amount).

I agree, this doesn't align with either bracket, but also shoots down the pro-ration theory, unless the start date is something other than the 1st of the month.

Did VW hand you a check, or are you doing EFT? If EFT, did you get the Chase email yet? This is puzzling, because so far, the discrepancies cited by other forum members have fit neatly into their prescribed mileage brackets and were easily explained.

DanB36 calculated for that person that stated they were prorated. They in fact were not.

The $510 increase I understand and should receive. It is the shortage of ~ $230 that has be baffled. I did Check.

I received $29,323.13 and the email stated the 29,833.13 so i will be getting the additional $510.

Mine does not seem easily explained....

I'm going to stay tuned to your case for resolution (or explanation, which I guess is the same thing).

I could play by buyback safely and schedule for the end of February or just wait for March, in the event the "prorate" thing is real. But I seriously don't believe it, so will probably just roll with the earliest Feb date I can nail down.

CT_White_SRT I looked through the tables again and see that for the 2015 Golf came with the disclaimer, "Note: amounts for 2015 model year are approximate / Visit VWCourtSettlement.com starting in July 2016 to enter your VIN and calculate your amount based on your mileage."

I see the post-July approved settlement figures, but they're listed as ranges, and I can't find a table with specific amounts like the original tables.

I'm betting the discrepancy is due to a NADA adjustment here, and the online calculators seem to be loaded with the early, pre-July figures.

I got shorted 648 on my 2015 A3 with no explanation. Returned with 26242 miles last week (5000-10000 mile bracket) and got 34207.

should have been 34855 according to online calculators and FTC docs. But the bracket difference is 810. So who knows. It DOES match the VW online website calculator, and the next bracket is 5 months out, so they must have reduced the vehicle value. Restitution is actually higher than the online calculators by 30.

I think some of the previous posters were correct.

The 2015 figures were estimates (even in the tables) and thus the online calculators could be off slightly.

The official calculator on the VW website gives the number I was provided at buyback.

Offer letter dated 01/10/2017, outstanding loan amount value as of
01/11/2017 (today). I did call the Claims line on Monday night to inquire about the status of my claim.
Got the standard response others have posted about the claim is being reviewed, and I should receive my offer shortly.

This is for the Jetta that I purchased in July 2016.
And received full Restitution amount, from the Carfax, car was leased for 2 years, then got passed around a few
used car dealers for about a year, I purchased it from one of the dealers.

Got My Offer As Well today !

I Got my offer Wednesday and my turn in date was for Feb.27 , I called and was able to get a sooner date of Feb 7th!! .. Call the claim line and ask for another dealer in a 40 mile radius and see if you can get your appointment moved . I have 98,500 on my 2010 Jetta and it's starting to consume oil, I think is the turbo seals as its doing re-gens every 200 miles or less  . I dont need the turbo to fail on me so i'm parking till the day I have to take it in.

Got Diesel- I just called and they said there is no way they can see any appointments available. They don't have access and the only way to do is cancel your current appointment which I don't want to. I'm still wondering how you were able to bump from 2/27 to 2/7.

Wild 03 asked about a time frame for the buyback once you get an offer. Can anyone be more specific on how long that timeframe is? I am asking because i am lining up a replacement for my Jetta, bu the person selling me their car is out of the country for a few months. If I get an offer letter in say February...how long do I have to schedule the buyback appointment. Has anyone got exact info from their letter or where I can look? Thanks...btw the replacement is a 2006 9-5 Sportcombi

Upload. Just do it.

Most of us are getting the ability to schedule the same day we upload.

The first available dates are typically at least a month out. Five to seven weeks in my case; others are sooner.

You'll be given a three month window to schedule an appointment. Pick something, knowing you can very simply return to the Portal at any time, cancel your appointment, and reschedule for a later (or earlier) date.
