Have you ever wondered precisely where in the harness those funny little circles on the wiring diagrams actually are?
The intent of this thread is to create a database to assist in locating these wiring connector points, without having to unravel an entire length of harness by trial and error.
To kick it off, here are the Front Door harness locations for a Mark IV Golf:
Drivers side
267 Earth connection -2- in drivers door harness
Z1 Connection -1- in mirror adjustment/heating wiring harness
Z1 is located 6 cm from T12 (the twelve pin mirror connection)
267 is located 9 cm from T12
Both are inside the piece of harness that runs up to the T12 connector.
304 Earth connection -3- in drivers door harness:
304 (and 303 Earth connection -3- in passenger door harness) are both in the same location. The wiring from the door courtesy light travels up to the main harness clipped to the inner skin of the door. If you measure approximately 9 cm from the first clip (or approximately 6 cm from where the harness joins), you will find this connection. The two pin connector for the door LED is also near this first clip on the drivers side.
R51 Connection 58b in door wiring harness - drivers side:
R51 is located 12cm from the mirror adjustment switch in the separate loom running up to it.
(Excuse the screw in the mirror switch in above photo - only had an old broken switch to play with
).
On the passenger side
268 Earth connection -2- in passenger door harness
Z2 Connection -2- in mirror adjustment/heating wiring harness
