Ok,
This year was really awesome, I had so much fun this year. Thanks to everyone for letting me help out, I really enjoyed it.
I left the hotel Monday morning at about 2am and arrived back in Toronto at about 1:30pm Monday afternoon, SWEET drive
I fell asleep after I got home and finally woke up at about 3am the next morning (I was wiped )...
It did rain off and on most of the way until I got close to Buffalo , but a nice drive non the less
I did some calculating and here are my mileage results:
Trip from Toronto to DC: 4.7723L/100Km or 49.289mpg
Trip from DC to Toronto: 4.7620L/100Km or 49.395mpg
Average for entire trip : 4.7671L/100Km or 49.343mpg
Not bad numbers, but I have to work on my driving habits to break the 50mpg mark

so ya'll don't like me being all caffeinated? I thought it was rather funny when you pointed that out to me....Apparently I needed the coffee, leading was fun! even held the 51mpg's going 90+ at points lol

Why did it take so long?
I went the interstate route on the way back. DC - Pittsburgh - Erie - Buffalo - Toronto. Just shy of 9hrs.

Guys,
Thanks for putting on the Fest. I made it over for Saturday. I really wanted to drive my Beetle, but it was sitting in the dealer holding lot after a failed ECM update (glow plug recall). Had a great time checking out all the TDI's and catching up with some of the folks I met at WorldImplex earlier in the year. Had a great time. Thanks!
Eric

The last time I went to Toronto, I took the route that MapQuest suggested. Big mistake - it took me on a winding route through the middle of PA with lots of little towns and lots of turns to make. The way back I came through Harrisburg PA on US 15 - on the whole lot better. The route through Erie sounds OK too..

Good time guys!
Thanks for putting up with my crabbiness on Sunday. Had some car issues to work out.
Hope to see 300 at the next one.

Caffeine is good for you. We prefer when you drive fast.

But caffeine makes you drive like a Hamster!!! The Benz likes to go around 80-90 so it was much happier when you pepped up.

I liked that route, calming and fun, besides, I did not have to rush . I like two-lane back road twisties, lots of scenery and nice roads

BTW, one thing we learned in our caravan, charcoal filters do work. We were able to turn it on and filter out the smell of the bio-diesel burners around us.
Oh and we averaged 32 mpg for the trip down, haven't filled up again yet.
