You're wasting everyone's time looking for '180 hp' turbo. Practically they are all the same turbo powerwise.

Just pick one GT2052V from the V6 TDI and send it to a good turbo shop to be made capable of 250hp. And this means more than changing the comp wheel.
Or call the shop if they need the core at all.

180 hp usually has different injectors stock but none of the stock injectors are good for 250 hp.

There are more than one spec of the pump but I haven't heard of any that is not capable of 250 hp.

So turbo, injectors and remap is what is needed. Exhaust modifications are welcome, but do them also before remap, not after.

And again: That is not correct. 180hp Turbo is different compressor than 150hp turbo!

The whole turbo has a different part number, also the compressor cover has a different part number and the compressor wheel also has a different part number.

If you have both compressors in your hands, you will see that they are physical different.

Anyway, when making a hybrid out of it, THEN it doesnt matter which stock compressor is mounted.

I have one VNT20/56V hybrid here for sale. Its a refurbished one with new orig. Garrett turbine, bearings, sealings and balanced by authorized Garrett workshop.

'S' is the only new turbo you get.

I can't believe this, i bought this turbo for my Golf mk3 about 2 years ago, but decided to use a wg instead, so i already have it, bought it for £250 pounds new. :D:D:D VNT20 059 145 701 S

I forgot all about it

Which company would be good to use to mod it to 250bhp?

I guess i need 6 r520 aswell

R683 is proper for V6 or you could use certain Iveco nozzles...

PM for turbo+injector package.

In the PAST they where different,
MK 97´ have 701C in 150hp and 701D or E in 180hp, MK 99´ the 180hp and 163hp has 701F or S. MK 00´with 150 hp has 701G and up to MK n03´it has 701K turbo.
SINCE 2003 they ALL have 701 S.

So if you get an older turbo you can get one thats different physical and powerwise what concerns the compressor. The turbine is always the same.

Maybe this is accurate enough now*g*

It needs a bit more than just changing the compressor wheel to get 250 hp or more.
And there are a lot of wheels with 56 mm exducer. But I'd use none of them.

^For what?
If the goal is 250 or maybe even little more hp and easy installation the VNT-20 Fez has is fine piece for donating all but turbine axle and compressor wheel. Maybe the back plate has to be changed, it depends on the wheel.
But to each their own :) .

The turbine of VNT20 is not very big, its only about 8% bigger than GT1749VB.

So even with a bigger compressor, the turbine will be the limiting factor, 250bhp is to much in my eyes.

That is why I have been saying all the time that you need to change more than just comp wheel, i.e. also the turbine with the axle (and machine the turbine housing accordingly).

Yes, or use bigger turbo.

At least the exhaust housing of the vnt20 is easier to clamp on a machine table than the turbos with integrated manifold... (hated doing that to make a gt18 turbine contour into the gt17 housing.....)

You don't need to modify pump before 350hp.
Then is there injectors which will support this?

If so then i can increase the turbo also to support this output.:)

Would the engine handle this?

Injectors that are big enuff may be found from cummins engines.
Need to do more research on that when the time is right. ;)

It was explained to me somehow like this; 3 pistons pump with 11mm distributor head. Needs to be tested out to be sure.

Next project maybe? ;)

Fez's 99 A6Q 150hp manual has 2 pistons.
Some pumps have three.
The capacity of each type of pump is still somewhat unknown.
