Turbo shaft play

It's more than I want to see.
Question is what does it feel like rotating.
Partly sounds almost spring loaded and it's not a VNT17, so I don't know for sure.
If I spun the turbine and felt any sloppy bearing feel in the hand I was holding it in, or heard any clattering/clicking, I would be looking for another.

If it spun smooth and easy with no odd sounds, I would think that I need a new one in the next 50,000-100,000mi

Agreed on passing - radial play is ok. Axial play is no good.
