Headlight going off and on

Checked out vortex for my sister in law and cake up empty. She has an 08 Passat gasser. She is having some odd electrical gremlins. The passenger side light goes on for 5 seconds later and then off for 5. I’ve searched here as well and see issue with them going completely off but nothing like this. I took off the harness and roughed the contacts a bit to see if it was just a bad connection and still no luck.

Should I look to rewire or buy a new harness and start from scratch? Brights are same way very intermittent. Wires don’t feel very sturdy. Light on dash is blinking. Car has 170,000 miles.

I would check:
- confirm grounds points. (Tight, rust free)
- confirm engine compartment fuse box. Confirm headlight fuses are clean and dont have signs of arcing.
- run a scan with VCDS for any fault module codes (Vato Zone OBDII scanner wont work)
