Good day,

A6 Jetta 2.0. I have been having issues with the car the past couple weeks. Initially I got 2 trouble codes and flashing glow plug light. I reset it and it quickly took it out of limp mode. Didn't think much else.

I drove from Petawawa to Barrie on friday and the codes came back. I was able to reset them on the move with my OBD2 scanner but eventually that stopped resolving the issue and drove all the way back in limp mode. I got a new MAF knowing that the AIT sensor was showing high signal. That didn't fix my issue...now I have a new MAF.

I scanned with VCDS (after installing the new MAF)and this is what I get.

2 Faults Found:

000568 - Manifold Pressure / Boost Sensor (G31)
P0238 - 000 - Signal too High - MIL ON
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 11100000
Fault Priority: 2
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset counter: 255
Mileage: 221849 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2013.03.25
Time: 19:20:53

Freeze Frame:
RPM: 920 /min
Speed: 0.0 km/h
Voltage: 14.29 V
Pressure: 980.1 mbar
Pressure: 2190.1 mbar
Temperature: 2.7°C
Temperature: 16.2°C

000275 - Intake Air Temp. Sensor (G42)
P0113 - 000 - Signal too High - MIL ON
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 11100000
Fault Priority: 2
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset counter: 255
Mileage: 221849 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2013.03.25
Time: 19:20:53

Freeze Frame:
RPM: 920 /min
Speed: 0.0 km/h
Temperature: 134.1°C
Pressure: 2190.1 mbar
(no units): 56.1
(no units): 1.50
Temperature: 19.8°C

AIT showing temp of 134 deg sounds like its not the sensor. What should I look for next?

Also the MAF circuit being too high at the same time as the AIT sensor is making me worry its a bigger problem than plug and play sensors...

MAP showing 2190 mbar might be high for idle? what should it be at?

Any help would be great!

Thanks
Marc

Thanks for the help, I did pull apart the charge air pipes coming off the intercooler to the intake manifold. found my problem. wire to the MAP was completely frayed. I am going to soder and heat shrink it back together. I noticed the protective sleeve is very brittle on that harness. From what I read it's been a problem for others too.

Another issue I found is my car had the recall for the de icer on the intake and when the tech put the hose back on the intake manifold the edge of the hose was folded down and the hose clamp tightened down on it... don't think I was leaking boost but it was disappointing to see.
