2012 jetta tdi ecu question ?

My question is if i find a similar ecu that has not had the update from VW for diesel gate , can i send it to Malone tuning and have them change the emobilizer and vin and have the pre performance before dealer change ? My current car has been updated to new firmware . thanks for any info on this .
