I had a IQ of 7.5, I raised the adaption value to 32784 (max) and my IQ went down to 6.9.

(I have no smoke at all, wich is kinda dissapointing :) I wanted some clouds of black after all theese mods. )

However, Im wondering if there would be any point for me to do the hammermod to get the IQ down(up?) to ~4mg/str. More fuel = more boost, wich in turn equals more power?

you should feel a big power improvement and a bigger torque peak! my iq change from 5 to 1.8 alone added 8whp and 18wtq

Hammer mod it to 4. Then you have about 1.5-2 +/-.

I.m sure if you go to 4 from 6.9, you'll notice a difference.

Don't forget to set the adaptation number to the default number (I don't remember what it is offhand) before performing the hammer mod.

Thanks guys.

I assumed that this is the way to go, but im affraid of using tools like a hammer on something so sensitive as the FP.

Need to sort the bosch tool for the securitybolt then.

You don't need to loosen the security bolt. Just lossen the other three and give a light tap with a rubber or plastic mallet.

Do this as you have the VCDS hooked up and the engine running. Give a tap and then look at the VCDS. You get the picture! :>)

Should be 32768 (a nice binary number)

Will you literally gain +3mg at the top end if you change IQ from 7 to 4? So approx +9bhp at the crank?
How much boost are you running please? 1.5bar?

The map requests 2560mbar, so thats 1.5bar of boost.

Im not sure how much bhp the IQ adjustment will produce.

I guess it depends on the voltage reduction at idle and what this does at the top end (might not be linear)?
