- '15 Golf Sportwagen TDI (Diesels but not TDIs: '82 VW Vanagon Wesfalia 1.6TD, '86 VW Transporter Single Cab 1.9TD)
For the main bearings, rod bearings and thrust washers, where's the best place to find these parts?
ImpexFAP seems to have what looks like a main bearing kit from the picture, but I can't reconcile the part numbers. According to VW, I need
rod bearings: 8 x 028 105 701 J
thrust washers: 1 x 026 198 421
main bearings: 4 x 026 198 491
Going to ImpexFAP, it looks like 028105701J-German ($49) might be a whole set of rod bearings, and 026198491A ($62) might be a whoel set of main bearings.
Does anyone have any feedback on this, or other suggestions for parts sources or interchanges?
Oh - I'm rebuilding an AAZ, but according to VW these part numbers are the same for AAZ, ALH and AHU.
