Replaced my rusted smart actuator a few months ago with a new smart actuator. I have been having friends tell me my car is putting out more black smoke than normal (which is normally ONLY when I romp the throttle on my 2004 199K mile two owner car).
I ran my VCDS auto scan and got:
P0234 Boost pressure regulator limit exceeded (overboost). I know when that happen, when merging on the highway. I felt it go into limp mode when over boosting.
P1178 Linear O2 sensor, pump circuit open circuit.
My milage has been crap for a while in my Jetta 09A auto wagon. 300+ miles per tank, don't even want to guess my MPG...
Does the later mean an O2 sensor is definitely bad, and might contribute to my mileage?
What does the first me, my actuator is not adjusted? The smart actuator swap might require a little tweaking I hear.
I did some boost logs, just not sure how to post it here now that photo bucket went rogue....Thank you!
