I've seen a few threads briefly touching on the subject, but nothing definitive with regard to this specific configuration:

Can a factory tow-hitch (w/ side assist) be installed in conjunction with the factory running boards and S-Line package?

Can my VCDS be used to complete the tow-hitch installation with regard to whatever sensor tweaking that needs to be performed (obviously assumes a yes to the first question).

I've got the first question into the dealer, but if anyone has personal experience with my conundrum, I'm all ears.

Thanks!

Sir,

I just installed an aftermarket hitch (looks just like a factory hitch and a lot cheaper) on my 2015 Q5 S-Line. Installed fairly easy. Have had it on for about 2 weeks now.

Haven't done the wiring yet....haven't had time with the holidays.

I can email you the company and stuff I used...think I spent about $275 for both the hitch and wiring.

Here is a couple of pics...after I installed the hitch

Still have to do the wiring.

Now that I look at the pictures more....going to cut a hole in the insert, make look better.
