Buddy of mine just bought a 05 Jetta manual TDI . What gear oil do you guys recommend? He having a issue with synchromesh between three and four.

His mechanic is recommending BG ultra Guard LS Full synthetic oil with GL5 rating. This correct oil as well?

Others can comment, but I don't think you want to use a GL5 oil in that transmission.
