There seems to be different opinions about having a race pipe with an anti-shudder valve. I am debating designing and making a race pipe with an anti-shudder valve and have been told our engines don't need it.

What is your opinion?

If it is not needed then I am not going to waste my time designing and making it. My background is in engineering, designing, machining, and air flow analysis.

I think a race pipe with built-in ASV would sell. It's been requested in the past by some folks but none have materialized as of yet.

I ran my stock tdi with the egr/asv off once. On shutdown the engine slammed the mounts. Engine does not need it, but it sure makes life easier on the mounts.
