I didn't happen to think of popping my trunk before parting out my 52k jetta wreck.

The complete front of the car has been gutted out.

I thought the key would have worked but no such luck.

Im sure their has to be a better plan than the one my mind came up with, "which is" to drill right threw the lock & then hope it pops open

At least on my car, there is a mechanical linkage that will open the trunk when you turn the key further then usual. Same with the lock in the driver's door. Was this a feature that was deleted for the later cars?

Your car doesn't have the child escape handel in it does it? That would make things easy.

Oh, drilling the lock won't work...

That is of a Bora trunk, but mine was very similar. The cam shaped thing on the bottom of the pic is where the key goes. See how it connects to the moter then to the latch?

I can get to it from the back seats, but wasn't sure about the best way to pop it open,
From looking at that pic, It looks easy, & think I can figue it out, I'll give it & try & report back.

Thanks for the feed back
