52,000km's and 52,000 miles are quite a bit different
I'll give the dealer a ring for ****s and giggles.. I am sure they'll tell me to pound sand, but it's worth a shot..
Thanks guys!
Let us know what you find out !!
I got NADA on an oem battery failing @ the 33 mo mark. The nexus being our VW's have a 4 year/50,000 miles warranty. So I asked them if I get NADA from an oem battery that only YOU carry anyway, why should I buy the same OEM "warranteed" battery from you. I can buy say an Interstate 94R and they actually do honor their stated warranty. Their response was: the battery is sold over the counter (OTC) with a warranty!!!!! So I asked well, what does that really mean in practice? Their further response was: full replacement for manufacturers' defect out to a date certain and prorated after. So at this point, I don't know really if that is the good news or the bad news and/or both.
I think the issue has (always) been: buyer beware, unless you ask/know specific vendor/s who will honor specific brand's warranties.
So for example, you buy a brand of tires from Costco, i.e., Michelin, who specifically will honor the brand THEY sell. I highly doubt they will honor a brand they carry, which you bought from some other vendor.
Another would be an advertised brand tire vendor, who MIGHT give you a prorate for that manufacturer's tire. However it is commonly known they will probably cost more anyway.
