Is Relay 109 and ECM Power Relay the Same ?

I was driving along at 50 mph or so and whacko, my early 01 Golf tdi suddenly quit & all the gauges went to Zero Mostel land. The engine soon started back up and continued to run like a champ but when I got home I called the vw 800 number and they told me to take it right in to my dealer.

I did, and the dealer put it on the "electronic analysis machine" and said they could find nothing wrong so they called the vw "tech line" and the vw rep they talked to told them to replace the "ECM Power Relay." Is the ECM Power Relay the same as the 109 Relay

Relay 109 is the proper one - how many miles do you have on it?

did they do it for free?

Such a vital part and VWoA refuses to do a recall on it!

Thanks for confirming the ECM and 109 Relay are one and the same, don't know why they didn't call it the 109 relay, but apparently they replaced the right thing.
