so replacing my cv axles (again within 1 yr of the last "new" axles) I noticed (not when loosening for some reason) one of my bolts is broken off in the cv axle *hub? Any suggestions as to what I should do, I want to start drilling into it and easy it out but not sure. Anybody had this problem?
I know a piece of the cv broke there were metal pieces in this side.
SO i'm assuming it got banged around and smashed that area with the threads inside. I know a couple spots look dinged up. Please help. I may just run 5 bolts for now but am skeptical about that.
Please let me know what you guys think (how do I post a pic)

Ship me a bolt, or the Hub? (what is that thing called) I guess i'l have to fight getting this bolt out at some point may as well be now? It was an OEM bolt, well I assume it was because I have the aftermarket bolts now and they are regular allen heads, rather than the 12 point

I get all my bolts out with a mig welder. I get a nut that just fits over the broke off stud and just weld the center up. Then just unscrew it like normal with the new welded on nut.

I've always gotten every broken bolt out of anything I was working on with this method.

I'd get it out for you if you ship it to me and pay return shipping (if you didn't want to try it). Can ship in a USPS flat rate box/padded envelope. Figured I'd just throw that out there.

Oh gotcha, well it's broken off flush if not receeded. I'm drilling now. How do I remove the hub?

The bolts don't bottom out so should come out ok, not sure how it managed to break? Unless maybe it was done when they were being tightened up previously.

There's a bolt right in the centre of the flange, just take it out the the flange pulls out.

The welder trick works even if it's flush. If it's recessed I usually weld a flat washer to the stud and then a nut to the washer.

It should come out without much of a fight. The rusted ones that are broken are a little more challenging....

Well it wasnt rusted, as i replaced these 1 year ago, but it was in there good, I managed to drill a hole in the center of it, however because i was not straight on with drilling when it came out the other side it was a bit off. I will just have to replace the whole thing. did you say you had one?

It was but I put it all back on with 5
Bolts for now. I didn't drill with enough precision.

I have one. I'd trade you mine for yours if you didn't drill into the threads at all. Just pay shipping to you for mine and ship yours to me.
