Impossible to shift the 98 Jetta. Previously have replaced the shift carrier:https://www.idparts.com/shift-carrier-early-a4a3b4-p-741.html when this occurred but am thinking I will need to drop the exhaust shield and pipe and replace the bushings etc. inside.
Have never had to do this before but am wanting to just keep it stock instead of changing over to the O2J tower as I have read in researching this. Am I correct that changing out the bushings requires dropping the box out the bottom? It can not be done from the top?
I did find this kit from Uro and they said it will work on the Jetta TDI but it is listed for a MK3 VR6: http://www.urotuning.com/Shift-Bushing-Rebuild-Kit-9-pcs-Mk3 VR6-p/shifter_rebuild_kit_mk3_vr6.htm Does this look like what will be needed?
Also found this on Ebay by Uro: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Manual-Tra...h=item1a620804b4:g:ytoAAOSwbTtbmHud:rk:1:pf:0
Anything else I should consider getting before tearing into this?
