GT1749VB versions

Guys, I've heard that there are 2 versions of this turbo. Is this true or am I fine as long as GT1749VB is written on it? Can I use it as a bolt on swap instead of my GT1749VA. Please answer soon. It will sell

I now that the 1.9TDI PD150 came with the GT1749VB turbo and the 1.9TDI PD130 came with GT1749VA you should be able to install the GT1749VB turbo instead of the GT1749VA you might need to adjust the VNT actuator rod to avoid over boosting.

I have a tdi arl with gt1749vb, after a turbo failure I didn't find the same turbo so I installed a gt1749va from asz engine.

Everything works fine with requesting 1,5bar like gt1749vb

There's no visual difference between turbos, but requested boost is different

ASZ : 1,3 bar (gt1749va)
ARL : 1,5 bar (gt1749vb)
BKD : 1,4 bar (gt1749va)

Thanks. I bought a VB turbo for my Fabia Vrs. I want to remap it to 180bhp and 1.6 boost... VA cant handle that... I guess I can drive with the VA boost levels until the remap

Need to fit ARL head bolts and get the Darkside Seat Sport Fmic as well...

There are bigger differences...GT1749VA it's just a GT1749V with bigger compressor wheel! Gt1749VB has even bigger compressor wheel and larger Turbine wheel.

In layman terms...

GT1749V - 140-150HP
GT1749VA - 160-170HP
GT1749VB - 190-200HP

Try again. They are all 49mm Exducer compressor wheels as indicated by the 49 after the GT17 in every case.

In fact it does, it just needs to adjust vanes to open fully. Benefits from VB aren´t much procentually, i wouldn´t even bother to change.
